This is a Huge Crate, Two of them spawn at the start.
The Huge Empty Crate is an enormous crate of presumably very high mass. It is too heavy to be lifted by the player character, although it can be grappled by the Grappling Hook. They are sometimes found on islands, and are extremely useful. So much so, two of them can be found at the starting location.
